2009 Jordan Brand All-American TeamKenny Boynton

He is relentless mentality and physically when attacking the basket. He commands the ball in pressure situations and is a natural at leading his team to victory. Boynton can score by knocking down the outside jumper or taking it to the basket and dropping a floater over a defender. He will attend the University of Florida next fall.
Avery Bradley
Height: 6-3 • Weight: 175 • Position: Point Guard • Findlay PrepHenderson, NV • Hometown: Tacoma, WA • College: TexasAvery Bradley is one of the purest shooters in the class of 2009. His pull up jumper off the dribble is deadly because of his elevation and accuracy. Bradley made a name for himself in the spring of his junior year and parlayed that into a stellar summer with stops at the Paul Pierce Nike Skills Academy and the Nike Global Challenge. He combines a quick first step with his athleticism and array of moves off the dribble to finish at the rim against all size defenders. After teaming with fellow Jordan Classic player Abdul Gaddy at Bellarmine Prep in Tacoma, Washington during the first part of his high school career, Bradley made the move to Findlay Prep in Nevada for his senior year. He will attend the University of Texas next season.
Dominic Cheek
Height: 6-5 • Weight: 180 • Position: Wing • St. Anthony H.S.Jersey City, NJ • Hometown: Jersey City, NJ • College: Villanova Dominic Cheek is an athletic and versatile shooting guard who plays within the flow of the game. His size sets him apart from other guards and his ability to be coached shows his maturity on and off the court. Cheek is an excellent shooter who has unlimited range on the court. As a member of the 2008 USA U-18 National team, he helped the team to a 4-1 record and captured a silver medal in the FIBA Americas U-18 Championship in Argentina. At St. Anthony’s High School, he has been named an All-State and All-Conference selection the past two years. Next year he will join Villanova University, who is known for producing NBA ready point guards.
DeMarcus Cousins
Height: 6-10 • Weight: 270 • Position: Power Forward/Center • LeFlore H.S.Mobile, AL • Hometown: Mobile, AL • College: UndecidedOne of the most talented big men in the 2009 class, DeMarcus Cousins has all the skills and physical attributes to make it at the next level. His remarkable wingspan allows him to wreck havoc on the defensive side of the ball. Cousins has great poise and coordination for a player his size. He has the capability to step back and hit from beyond the arc or power his way to the basket on the block. Cousins is undecided on where he will attend college next season.
Derrick Favors
Height: 6-9 • Weight: 220 • Position: Forward • South Atlanta H.S.Atlanta, GA • Hometown: Atlanta, GA • College: Georgia TechOne of the top players in the senior class, Derrick Favors has been a staple at the top of the rankings since his freshman season. Favors can player either forward position as he has the quickness to guard on the perimeter and also the length and strength to bang inside. An explosive athlete, he has great timing and shot blocking abilities for a younger player. He will join Paul Hewitt and the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech next season in the ACC.
Abdul Gaddy
Height: 6-3 • Weight: 175 • Position: Guard • Bellarmine PrepTacoma, WA • Hometown: Tacoma, WA • College: WashingtonOne of the elite backcourt players in the 2009 class, Abdul Gaddy handles himself with poise and grace when running his team. He is a terrific passer and has a great feel for finding his teammates anywhere on the court. Gaddy can also score with the best of them when needed, as he possesses a solid jumper off the dribble or screen and can drop a floater over any size defender. After teaming with Avery Bradley for the first few years of his high school career, Gaddy took on the role of team leader this season for Bellarmine. Gaddy will stay close to home next season when he joins the University of Washington Huskies in the Pac-10.
Keith Gallon
Height: 6-9 • Weight: 300 • Position: Power Forward • Oak Hill AcademyMouth of Wilson, VA • Hometown: Houston, TX • College: Oklahoma The most intimidating player in the class of 2009, Keith “Tiny” Gallon is a force to be reckoned with on the court. At 300 pounds, his size is deceiving as he has great footwork and speed on the court. Gallon has a nice shooting touch and can do damage against any team from beyond the arc. His rebounding is one of his strengths due to his size, and he does a great job on the defensive side of the ball in the lane. Next season he will join fellow All-American Tommy Mason-Griffin and the Sooners of Oklahoma.
Jordan Hamilton
Height: 6-7 • Weight: 210 • Position: Wing • Dominguez H.S.Compton, CA • Hometown: Los Angeles, CA • College: Texas Jordan Hamilton is one of the most prolific scorers in the class of 2009. He can beat you off the dribble, from beyond the arc or by slashing through the lane. Hamilton knows how to use his body to create space and is consistent at keeping his defender off balance. His jumping ability benefits him on both sides of the ball as he a great rebounder with a knack for knowing where the ball is going to bounce. Hamilton is fearless on the court and takes on all challenges offensively and defensively. Next season Hamilton will play for Rick Barnes at the University of Texas.
Xavier Henry
Height: 6-6 • Weight: 225 • Position: Forward • Putnam City High SchoolOklahoma City, OK • Hometown: Oklahoma City, OK • College: MemphisArguably the top prospect in the class of 2009, Xavier Henry has been on college coaches radar from before his freshman year of high school. Henry has a textbook jump shot that is automatic from the wing. He can put the ball on the floor and will challenge anyone on his way to the basket. Henry’s strength and size are a huge asset and are what set him a notch above the rest of the players at his position. His mother and father also played collegiately at Kansas in the early 80’s. Henry will play at Memphis next year where he will join his older brother C.J. and Coach Calipari.
John Henson
Height: 6-10 • Weight: 210 • Position: Power Forward/Center • Sickles H.S.Tampa, FL • Hometown: Tampa, FL • College: North Carolina John Henson is a freakish athlete with the quickness and athleticism he possesses for a player of his size. He is able to defend players of all sizes because of his speed and causes constant match up problems. Henson plays with an edge and is not afraid to mix it up with players bigger than him. Offensively, his low post repertoire is solid but still developing. His wingspan benefits him both on the defensive side of the ball and when rebounding. Next season Henson will be joining the University of North Carolina when he suits up for Coach Roy Williams.
Lamont Jones
Height: 6-0 · Weight: 190 · Position: Point Guard · Oak Hill AcademyMouth of Wilson, VA · Hometown: New York, NY · College: Virginia TechOne of the true floor generals of the 2009 class, Lamont “Momo” Jones knows how to direct a team. He has great court vision and ball skills that allow him to be very productive when on the court. Jones has also developed outstanding leadership skills over his high school career as he has played for some of the top teams in the country. When he is not setting up teammates, Jones possesses a solid jumper and knack for getting to the rim. He will attend Virginia Tech University next season.
Wally Judge
Height: 6-8 • Weight: 220 • Position: Forward • Arlington Country Day SchoolJacksonville, FL • Hometown: Baltimore, MD • College: Kansas StateWally Judge is the next in a long line of basketball products from Baltimore, MD. Judge is one of the top talents in the 2009 class due to his athletic ability, solid hands and soft touch around the basket. He is skilled on the low blocks but does his most damage when facing the basket. Judge rebounds on both sides of the ball and can be a lockdown defender at times. Next fall Judge will attend Kansas State University.
Tommy Mason-Griffin
Height: 5-10 • Weight: 195 • Position: Point Guard • James Madison H.S.Houston, TX • Hometown: Houston, TX • College: OklahomaOne of the top point guards in the class of 2009, Tommy Mason-Griffin is a competitive and physically gifted athlete. His strong build compensates for his lack of height, as he is able to power through bigger guards on both sides of the ball. Mason-Griffin has the unique ability to control a game with either his scoring, passing or court leadership. He will join one of the top recruiting classes of 2009 when he joins the University of Oklahoma next fall.
Alex Oriakhi
Height: 6-9 • Weight: 225 • Position: Power Forward/Center • Tilton SchoolTilton, NH • Hometown: Lowell, MA • College: ConnecticutOne of the most dominant defensive players in the class of 2009, Alex Oriakhi prides himself with the impact he can make on defense. He can influence a game with his presence on the glass as he routinely pulls down double-digit rebounds per game. Oriakhi has great length and a frame that can be used to bang on the low blocks. Most of his scoring comes down low where he has an array of moves he uses successfully. He will attend the University of Connecticut in the fall.
Daniel Orton
Height: 6-10 • Weight: 260 • Position: Center • Bishop McGuinness H.S.Oklahoma City, OK • Hometown: Oklahoma City, OK • College: KentuckyDaniel Orton is arguably the most powerful and versatile big men in the 2009 class. He is a tremendous defensive player due to his shot blocking ability and rebounding. Orton highlighted those skills last year as he averaged 10 rebounds and almost seven blocks a game as a junior. His unselfishness on the offensive side of the ball makes any point guard want to play with him. Orton can score on the low block and is great at finishing through contact. In the summer, he played along side fellow Jordan Brand All-American Xavier Henry. Next season Orton will play for Billy Gillespie at Kentucky.
Mason Plumlee
Height: 6-11 • Weight: 210 • Position: Power Forward/Center • Christ SchoolArden, NC • Hometown: Arden, NC • College: Duke Mason Plumlee is a rare athlete due to his size and athletic ability. At 6-11, he plays the game from a guard’s standpoint. He is able to bring the ball up the court or set up as center and direct traffic in the low post. A member of the 2008 USA U18 Nation Team, Plumlee has led his high school team to two consecutive state championships while chasing a third this year. He was a 2008 All-State selection while also being a member of the National Honor Society. He will join his brother Miles at Duke University next season.
Durand Scott
Height: 6-4 · Weight: 180 · Position: Shooting Guard · Rice H.S.New York, NY · Hometown: New York, NY · College: Miami (FL)Durand Scott is the next in a long line of star players that have played for Rice High School and Coach Maurice Hicks. Scott is a fierce competitor and proven winner throughout his high school career. He is most productive when slashing to the basket but has no problem setting back and hitting the jumper. Scott’s great length and quick feet are what make him a solid defender. His high basketball IQ and good court vision make him a lock to make an impact at the next level. He will head south next fall and attend the University of Miami.
Renardo Sidney
Height: 6-9 • Weight: 245 • Position: Power Forward • Fairfax High SchoolLos Angeles, CA • Hometown: Los Angeles, CA • College: UndecidedKnown as a top prospect since the eighth grade, Renardo Sidney is a man among boys when he steps on the court. He can shoot, pass and handle the rock with great consistency for a player his size. On offense, he can post you up with his powerful inside game or face up and beat you with his silky jumpshot. As his body develops and his agility matches his size, Sidney will be a force at the next level. Sidney is undecided on where he will attend college next season.
John Wall
Height: 6-4 • Weight: 175 • Position: Guard • Word of God Christian AcademyRaleigh, NC • Hometown: Raleigh, NC • College: UndecidedJohn Wall is best known for his freakish athleticism and uncanny ability to change a game with his defensive efforts. One of the fastest rising stars in the class of 2009, Wall is still a raw talent but once his offensive abilities match his defensive actions he will be an unstoppable threat. Wall is most dangerous on the break as he can change direction at full speed while weaving through defenders. Wall is still undecided on where he will attend school in the fall but his short list includes Baylor, Kansas, Memphis, Miami, North Carolina State, Duke and Oregon.
Royce White
Height: 6-7 • Weight: 200 • Position: Wing • Hopkins H.S.Minnetonka, MN • Hometown: Minnetonka, MN • College: MinnesotaRoyce White is an athletically gifted combo forward who plays the game at a high level. He is a terrific defender who is able to guard multiple positions on the court. White can score both inside and out due to his strength and ability to finish with contact. His court vision and passing is what sets him apart for a player his size. Next season he will join Coach Tubby Smith and stay close to home at the University of Minnesota.
